PE and Sport Premium
How we spend our PE and Sports Premium
The PE and Sport Premium is government funding provided to primary schools to improve the quality of Physical Education (PE), school sport and physical activity. The funding is designed to support schools in providing high-quality, inclusive sporting opportunities and encouraging all pupils to develop healthy, active lifestyles.
At Avenue Primary Academy, we are committed to using this funding effectively to enhance our PE curriculum, develop staff confidence and expertise, increase pupils' participation in physical activity and provide a wide range of sporting opportunities. This includes supporting extracurricular clubs, competitive sporting events, swimming provision and opportunities for pupils of all abilities to develop their physical skills, confidence, teamwork and resilience.
With the PE and Sport Premium funding expected to come to an end, the school has been allocated £8,200 in transitional funding. This funding will help us maintain and build upon the opportunities already established, while planning for the long-term sustainability of our PE and sporting provision. We remain committed to ensuring that pupils continue to benefit from high-quality physical education and a broad range of sporting experiences.
Our aim is to ensure that the funding has a positive and sustainable impact, inspiring children to enjoy physical activity and develop lifelong healthy habits.
Schools are required to publish information about how their PE and Sport Premium funding is spent and the impact it has on pupils' participation, progress and achievement.
