Dear Parents/Carers,

Phonics is vitally important to how children learn to read and write and is a big part of the work we do with your child in Reception. We would like to invite you to a phonics workshop for parents of children in Reception. The workshop will cover why we teach phonics, how we teach it, how children learn to blend and segment to read and write words and the actions we teach to match the sounds they have learnt. We will also cover how we support pupils as they progress through our school scheme ‘Avenue Letters and Sounds’. During the workshop there will be an opportunity to see a phonics lesson and ask any questions you may have about phonics, early reading or writing. 

We will be running four identical workshops. The workshops will be on the following dates:

Monday 9^th February at 9.00-9:45am

Monday 9^th February at 2:00-2:45pm

Wednesday 11^th February at 9:00-9.45am

Wednesday 11^th February at 2:00-2:45pm

Dear Parents/Carers,

We look forward to welcoming you to our Nativity show on December 8^th and 9th. Please ensure that your child's costume is in school by Monday of next week (1st Dec) so that the children can have a dress rehearsal.

To all parents and carers,

Your children have settled beautifully into school life and were all amazing on their first full day.

We have now set up all your Tapestry accounts and will soon be able to send you some photos of the activities your children are engaging in. Please could you check that you have given permission for your children to have their photo taken in school and shared within the class. This can be done through your Arbor account.

Please also try to name all your child's belongings so that they can easily be returned at the end of the day.
