Autumn 1 Welcome Letter

We are so impressed with how well the children have settled this week. Please check the year group page regularly, as this is where we will post important information.

Today, your child will receive their home school liaison book, along with a book from our reading scheme. Please read with your child daily (at least 3 times a week) and comment in their green book each time they read. Please ensure that your child’s reading book and home school liaison book is in their bag each day.

You will also receive a letter today with information about Purple Mash and Numbots. Logins for these websites have been stuck into your child’s home school liaison book.

You will notice that there is also a login for Oxford Owl. This is a home learning tool which will give your child access to our reading scheme books at home.

WELCOME TO YEAR 1

We are all really looking forward to seeing the children on Monday 5th September. Your children’s teachers have planned wonderful activities to welcome the children into their new classes and will be spending time getting to know your child and helping them feel confident as they begin the new year.

Morning drop-off: Please drop off your child at the Dorset Road gate. The gates will be open 8:10am – 8:30am. The children will then make their way along the decking to their new classrooms.

If you also have a child in year 3-6 please drop and collect your children off via the Dorset Road gate and they can find their way through the school to their classroom. Please note, only children with siblings in Nursery to Year 2 should use the Dorset Road gate.

Uniform

Please remember that children must be in the correct school uniform which should be clearly labelled with their name and class. (see our school website for full details of the uniform policy). Although resources will be provided in school, if your child wishes to bring their own pencil cases then they can but please ensure that this, and the contents, is fully labelled.

Please ensure that your child’s P.E kit is in school from the start of term and again,  each item is clearly labelled with their name and class.  The children will require their P.E. kit during the first week of school and this should include trainers for outdoor use. Smart watches are not permitted in school, due to safeguarding reasons.
