School Uniform and Appearance
We take great pride in our uniform and it is important that all children and parents support us in ensuring that children have the correct uniform at all times. Our uniform has been chosen to keep costs as low as possible for parents and carers.
Items marked ‘*’ are available through our supplier, Stitch Design Ltd.
We are very aware of rising living costs and the impact this is having on our families.
Therefore, with the support of the governors, for September 2022 we would like to give parents the option of buying plain green polo shirts (not scalloped collars),plain green PE shirts and plain navy sweatshirts.
Please try to match the green of our logo t-shirts. It is important that all children are in clean, smart uniform.

EYFS (Nursery and Reception)
* Bookbag with school logo
* Emerald green polo shirt with logo
* Navy blue sweatshirt or cardigan with logo
- Plain navy blue jogging trousers (or grey shorts in the summer term only) or navy blue skirt (No pinafore dresses)
- Summer dress (green check) in the summer term only with plain white socks
- Plain white, navy blue, black or grey socks, or plain navy or black tights. Socks must be plain and may be ankle or long socks, but not over the knee socks.
- Plain black trainers (including the sole) or black flexible outdoor shoes, suitable for activities.
Due to the nature of activities, jogging trousers are most appropriate for children in Nursery and Reception.
PE kit (for Reception): (Nursery do not need a separate PE kit)

- Plain navy blue shorts
- Plimsolls (slip-on or Velcro variety)
- Drawstring bag to store PE kit
- Optional navy tracksuit in winter in addition to shorts and t-shirt.
Year 1 & 2
* Bookbag with school logo
* Emerald green polo shirt with logo
* Navy blue sweatshirt or cardigan with logo
- Navy blue skirt or tailored navy or grey trousers (grey shorts in the summer term only)
- Summer dress (green check) in the summer term only with plain white socks
- Plain white, navy blue, black or grey socks, or plain navy or black tights. Socks may be ankle or long socks, but not over the knee socks.
- Flat black shoes / trainers (must be completely black)
Y1 and Y2 – Indoor pair of shoes (see note in below): black plimsolls
Indoor Shoes
Currently, indoor shoes are optional. If the weather is bad and you wish your child to come to school in boots or wellies, please ensure that they have their school shoes to change into.
Children will still need to have plimsolls/trainers in their PE kits.

Years 3 – 6

- Grey trousers should be worn with grey socks
- Summer dress (green check) in the summer term only with plain white socks
- Plain white, navy blue, black or grey socks, or plain navy or black tights. Socks may be ankle or long socks, but not over the knee socks. Summer dresses should only be worn with plain white socks, and grey trousers with grey socks
- Flat black shoes / black trainers (completely black)
PE/Games kit:

- Optional football boots and shin pads
- Optional navy tracksuit in winter in addition to shorts and t-shirt
- Swim-suit (all in one for girls and fitted trunks for boys) ; swimming hat; towel and flip flops.
Shoes
- Shoes must be fully covered and ‘sensible’ shoes for a child to run in – in wet weather, open shoes will get very wet.
- We will allow black trainers for those that prefer them and where this would be more sensible (ie some children play football at break times). However, it may be more comfortable and better for foot support to have a shoe that has a good grip and is also suitable for play. Black trainers must be completely black – no coloured/white logos or coloured laces – the more they look like a shoe, the better.
- Wellington boots may be worn to school instead of shoes when necessary (ie in the snow) and children will wear the same when on the playground.
During the winter months it is also helpful to provide your child with a spare pair of socks to be kept at school in case of bad weather.
All Y2 and junior children (Y3 – Y6) wear black indoor shoes, which need to be different from the footwear they wear to and from school, and at break times. This allows children to wear suitable shoes for the weather to and from school and at playtime. This also allows the children to use our outdoor learning areas throughout the year.
Other requirements - ALL CHILDREN
- All long hair (shoulder length or longer, both boys and girls) should be tied back
- Hair accessories must be small and plain (eg hair bands or scrunchies, which should be in school colours – blue/green or black/brown).
- Hairstyles must be plain, with no dyed or shaved patterns. Hair gel may be used to keep hair tidy, but not for fashion styling.
- Nail varnish must not be worn in school.
- Earrings - plain gold or silver ear studs, in the lobe (not glass/diamond-effect/emblems, etc.) Children must remove their earrings themselves for PE and swimming. Hooped earrings are not allowed and no other piercings are permitted.
- The only other jewellery permitted is that worn for religious or medical reasons (which requires a letter of explanation), and a named wristwatch (smart watches are not permitted).
- No scarves to be worn in school
