Trailblazers and Explorers went to Chessington World of Adventures Resort
KS2 Base trip to Chessington by Adam T
On Wednesday, the 12th of June, Trailblazers and Explorers went on an exciting trip to Chessington World of Aventures Resort.
Firstly, we went on the Vampire and it was quite the adrenaline rush! Some children were petrified and didn’t go on some of the rides. The Vampire waiting line smelt like death.
When we sat down to have a snack we watched a sea lion come out of the water to eat a fish and then went back in the water.
Later, the children that were over 1.4 metres tall went on Rattlesnake and were escorted there by 2 adults and they were scarred for life! The Rattlesnake smelt like a burning furnace.
Then finally at the end, we went on Mamba Strike and it was quite the thrill ride! Thankfully, this ride wasn’t trying to attack my nostrils.
We sat down to have lunch about 15 minutes to 1 and one child’s sandwich was stolen by a stealthy, opportunistic seagull while he was in the toilet.
We left to go back to school approximately10 past three and we left feeling tired but happy. We made a lot of memories and I would recommend it.
The teachers on the trip say:
The children followed instructions brilliantly, challenged their comfort zones and most importantly had a fantastic time with their friends. They were a credit to the school with their patience and resilience, managing well in a busy environment whilst still using their strategies and the support of our trusted adults to stay regulated.
Well done Explorers and Trailblazers!

To Parents and Carers,
We have become aware of a large number of children wearing scarves during the Winter months. Unfortunately these pose a safety risk to our children - a choking risk- and therefore we will not be allowing children to wear these to school. Coats can be zipped up fully to keep children warm.
We hope that you understand why this has been necessary and support the School to keep our children safe.
Many thanks,
Miss Guy

World Mental Health Day
Today, we have celebrated World Mental Health Day. The theme of the day has been 'Mental Health is a universal right' and the children have completed a range of activities to help them to understand this. We focused on the idea of being kind, not only to others, but to yourself too.
The children played kindness bingo throughout the day which included things such as 'say hello to someone new' and 'write down 3 things you love about you.' All of the children finished the day by writing themselves a kindness postcard, remembering a time where they had done something great.

Trailblazers Trip to Pizza Express
On Wednesday 27th September, Trailblazers had a trip to Pizza Express. We learnt about the history of the Margherita pizza and that it had been made for the Queen of Italy. We also learnt about the ingredients of the dough and the pizza. Then, we enjoyed making our own margherita pizzas by pressing the dough out in the pan, spreading the tomato sauce and adding mozzarella cheese. Once we returned to school, we ate our pizzas and they were delicious. What a great trip we had!
