Year Five Local History Visit to Cheam

There was a heightened level of excitement in Year Five this week as all the children were looking forward to the local history trip to Cheam. From Monday, all of teachers were checking the weather on a daily basis in the hope that there would be no sign of rain. We were very lucky indeed as the only rain occurred just as the last classes returned to school on Friday!

All of the children had a fabulous time learning new and interesting facts about Cheam, with many of them planning to take their families on the trip too! Highlights included the link between Nonsuch Palace and the Red Lion Inn, Cheam School  (attended by the Duke of Edinburgh and Prince Philip) and the historical graffiti wall close to St Dunstan's Church.

All of the children showed exemplary behaviour with comments being made by numerous members of the public as to how well behaved they were and how wonderful it was to see children enjoying learning.

Well done to everyone !
